I have been volunteering virtually at this institution for a few months now, and I can honestly say it is the most rewarding experience I have ever had. The staff is incredibly friendly and easy to work with, and the residents are so appreciative and kind. I have been playing guitar and singing to them over zoom, and each and every week when the staff member brings the iPad into their rooms, their faces light up to the sound of the music, and many of them sing along! Last week, a resident even began to cry at the spiritual song I was singing because she was so moved. I can honestly say that this institution has had such an impact on my life, and I am a better person due to this experience. I'm so thankful for MacGregor Downs Health and Rehab, and I believe they are honestly changing the lives of their residents.

My dad is currently a resident there since mid February. We have watched him progress a great deal with the help of all the staff members. They are an excellent team and have a lot of joy and love in their hearts towards the residents there. He talks about the staff a lot and appreciates everything he gets help with and he enjoys them all. We as a family thank God for the opportunity that our dad was place at this facility. You all have done a great job during the pandemic and continue to have a positive attitude every day and be so strong. Thank you again, Michael, Cathy and Great Granddaughter Maleigha.

My husband was a resident at MacGregor Downs from Sept to Jan,2021. Cannot say enough of the wonderful care that my husband, Bill received! My son and I were able to Zoom my husband with the awesome help from Terry and Sonya..Bill seemed well taken care and happy..Even though he suffered from the last stages of dementia he would smile, and keep his sense of humor. I would also like to thank Angela the social worker, Doris, Heather, Cathy, Kevin, and all the other wonderful caring people.😇

My mom was a patient here. Initially, she was not receptive to being in a nursing home for therapy. My mom is a picky eater was refusing to eat and therefore, we had to bring food from the outside. However, one of the staff (RCS) found out that she loves coffee so he made sure she had it with her meals. She was very appreciative and began to eat more of the food. The staff went out of their way to make her feel comfortable and more at home. My mom was very happy with everyone and now, I have all these adopted sisters and brothers. She would tell me about all her new friends and how she loved to laugh and joke with everyone. I want to thank all the staff for all the care they provided. This means so much during this COVID pandemic.
